‘Study in Hong Kong’ is an official portal by the HKSAR Government for scholarships. This is the most comprehensive website to seek scholarships provided by the government. There are three major scholarships for non-local students applying in universities and other links connecting to all Hong Kong university scholarships, which are mentioned in the link below.

Education Bureau

The Education Bureau (EDB) is the main source of information for anyone seeking any form of education, especially if you wish to know the education system and their policies, curriculum development, or any kind of programmes in respect of education from pre-primary to tertiary level.

List of essential services provided by EDB:

  • 1. The Student Office (SFO): Education financial assistance (loan) from pre-primary to continuing education level.

  • 2. The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA): An independent, self-financing statutory body. The major function of the HKEAA is to administer public examinations. Thus, anyone who is willing to finish their high school education privately can register here. It is one of the best platforms to apply.

  • 3. The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ): This is another an independent statutory body to provide authoritative advice on academic standards of degree programmes in higher education institutions in Hong Kong.

  • 4. Vocational Qualifications and the Vocational Training Council (VTC): This medium provides structured vocational education and on-the-job training with clear progression pathways to attract talents for industries and trades with a keen demand for labour. Participants will study VTC’s training programme while receiving on-the-job training at employing companies. It is also an all-rounded provider, a platform that creates a path in anyways you desire. Highly suitable for individuals with no prior educational background.
